Periolat Brewery
The Periolat brewery was founded in 1850 by Napoleon Periolat near Chicago, Illinois. There are sources placed the establishment of the brewery in 1898, attributing its foundation to Henry Periolat. The brewery was across modern-day Milwaukee Avenue from the Union Hotel in Wheeling. Periolat brewery was among the companies that adopted refrigeration technology in order to improve its brewing capabilities. The brewery operated continuously under the management of the Periolat family until 1905, when it was sold by Robert and Henry Periolat. The brewery was razed in 1909. North Milwaukee Avenue is a street in the city of Chicago and the northern suburbs. Route description True to its name, the street, which began as a Native American trail, eventually leads north to the state of Wisconsin and through Kenosha and Racine towards Milwaukee, though not directly. Starting with a short section at N. Canal and W. Lake Streets, it begins in earnest at the corner of N. Des Plaines and W. Kinzie Streets and heads northwest for about before joining Skokie Highway ( U.S. Route 41) in Gurnee, Illinois, which eventually merges at Interstate 94 where Skokie Highway and the Tri-State Tollway split off, continuing to Milwaukee. Wheeling is a village in Cook and Lake counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. A suburb of Chicago, it is primarily in Cook County, approximately northwest of downtown Chicago.
