Perfect Match (Australian Game Show)
''Perfect Match Australia'' is an Australian dating game show based on the format of the American game show ''The Dating Game''. ''Perfect Match'' was produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation. It originally aired on Network Ten for 30 minutes most weekdays from 5:30pm between 1983 and 1989. The format was revived in Australia for subsequent programs ''Blind Date'' based on its US counterpart on Network Ten in 1991, and again a revised version of ''Perfect Match'' this time airing on the Seven Network in 2002. Overview The show featured the same format as international versions ''The Dating Game'' and ''Blind Date'', with a contestant determining their "perfect match" by asking three potential suitors of the opposite sex hidden behind a screen a number of scripted compatibility questions. Dating game shows are game shows that incorporates a variety of matchmaking systems and services in the form of a game with clear rules. Human matchmaking is involved only in selecting the game's contestants, who are usually selected more for the amusement value than any concern for their happiness or compatibility. The audience sees only the game; an important feature of all dating game shows is that the contestants have little or no previous knowledge of each other, and are exposed to each other only through the game, which may include viewing a photograph or at least knowing the basic criteria for participation (typically participants are not already married). The Craic
''The Craic'' (stylised as ''The Craíc'') is a 1999 Australian comedy film starring stand-up comedian Jimeoin with Alan McKee, directed by Ted Emery. Plot It is 1988, and two best friends from Ireland—Fergus Montagu (Jimeoin) and Wesley Murray (McKee)—flee from Belfast after a violent confrontation with Colin (Robert Morgan) of the IRA and illegally enter Australia, finding seasonal work picking fruit at orchards to afford hostels, sustenance and booze costs (but so cash-strapped, their whiskey and cokes are made by taking swigs of whiskey and coke, mixing the two on the fly in their mouth), the last often used to dull the two's fear of immigration officers.
