"Perdono" (, i.e. "Forgive me") is an Italian pop song written by Piero Soffici and Mogol and performed by Caterina Caselli. The song was released as a " double A-side" together with "L'uomo d'oro". It was launched on the occasion of the third edition of the Festivalbar, and it won the competition as the most listened song in Italian jukeboxes with over 72,000 hits in the 1966 Summer. Caterina Caselli
Caterina Caselli (born 10 April 1946) is an Italian record producer, music executive, singer and bass player. Biography Caselli was born in Modena but grew up in Sassuolo. She started her music career by playing bass in local clubs. In 1966 she debuted in the Sanremo Festival with " Nessuno mi può giudicare", a song discarded by Adriano Celentano, scoring a notable success. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. Caselli also had considerable success with an Italian cover of the David McWilliams song "Days of Pearly Spencer" called "Il volto della vita". Her first album, ''Casco d'oro'' (Golden Bob), was titled after a nickname given to her by the music press. In 1966 she scored another domestic hit with the song "Perdono”. In 1968 Caselli enjoyed further success with a dynamic version of the Paolo Conte-penned tune “Insieme a te non ci sto più". Mario Panzeri
Mario Panzeri (11 October 1911 – 19 May 1991) was an Italian lyricist and composer. He is well known for his composed songs that include "Maramao perché sei morto?" "Pippo non lo sa", "Lettera a Pinocchio", and "Grazie dei fior", which won the first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1951. Panzeri was the composer of Sanremo Music Festival 1964 winning song "Non ho l'età". Life and career Born in Milan, Panzeri started his career as a revue actor and singer. Daniele Pace
Daniele Pace (20 April 1935 – 24 October 1985) was an Italian composer, lyricist and singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Milan, Pace started his career as lead vocalist of the group I Marcellini. After a brief solo career as a singer-songwriter, in the early 1960s he was enrolled by CGD as a composer and lyricist, often teaming with Mario Panzeri. The duo had several hits, and some of their songs were covered in other languages and became international successes. In 1971 he co-founded the comedy music group Squallor, and in 1979 he recorded a solo album, ''Vitamina C''. Pace's collaborations include Gigliola Cinquetti, France Gall, Caterina Caselli, Ricchi e Poveri, Loredana Bertè, Roberto Carlos, Orietta Berti, Mario Lavezzi, I Camaleonti, Eduardo De Crescenzo, Connie Francis and Massimo Ranieri. Laura Efrikian ( hy, Լաուրա Էֆրիկյան; born 14 June 1940), is an Italian actress and television personality. She is of Armenian descent. Life and career Born in Treviso as Laura Ephrikian, the daughter of the conductor and musicologist Angelo Ephrikian, Efrikian graduated in acting at the drama school of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. Since 1960 Efrikian intensively worked in theater, television and films, notably hosting the 1962 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. After the film debut in the 1961 peplum film ''Hercules and the Conquest of Atlantis'', Efrikian starred in several Musicarelli films with Gianni Morandi, whom she married in 1966; the couple divorced in 1979. Ettore Maria Fizzarotti (1916–1985) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Born in Naples, the son of the director Armando, he debuted as assistant director in the films of his father, and later collaborated with, among others, Vittorio Cottafavi and Raffaello Matarazzo. He made his directorial debut in 1964, with ''In ginocchio da te'', a musicarello with Gianni Morandi which was panned by critics but which got a large commercial success. The musicarello (; plural: musicarelli) is a film subgenre which emerged in Italy and which is characterised by the presence in main roles of young singers, already famous among their peers, and their new record album. In the films there are almost always tender and chaste love stories accompanied by the desire to have fun and dance without thoughts. Musicarelli reflect the desire and need for emancipation of young Italians, highlighting some generational frictions. The genre began in the late 1950s, and had its peak of production in the 1960s.
