Per Maltby
Per Maltby (3 November 1933 – 24 May 2006) was a Norwegian astronomer. He took his cand.real. degree at the University of Oslo in 1957, and was a research assistant there before becoming lecuter at the University of Bergen in 1960. His specialties were solar physics and radioastronomy. Radioastronomy
Radio astronomy is a subfield of astronomy that studies celestial objects at radio frequencies. The first detection of radio waves from an astronomical object was in 1933, when Karl Jansky at Bell Telephone Laboratories reported radiation coming from the Milky Way. Subsequent observations have identified a number of different sources of radio emission. Oddbjørn Engvold (born 7 April 1938) is a Norwegian astronomer. He was born in Askim. His specialty is solar physics, and he was appointed as a professor at the University of Oslo in 1989.
