Per Bratland
Per Bratland (September 8, 1907 – April 9, 1988) was a Norwegian newspaper editor. Born in Oslo, he started out as a photo reporter for the Drammen newspaper Fremtiden in 1927. He became the editor-in-chief of '' Tiden'' in 1934, and a journalist in '' Arbeiderbladet'' in 1936. He covered the arrival of Adolf Hitler in Vienna in March 1938, and the Nazi annexation of Austria, as news reporter, escaping to Tsjekkoslovakia by taxi, with his undeveloped film hidden in the petrol tank. When the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany started in 1940, ''Arbeiderbladet'' was shut down. Escaping the invasion army, Bratland took a famous photo of king Haakon VII and crown prince Olav, hiding in the birch forest in Molde, under a bombing raid by German airplanes. He escaped Aalesund by sea to Bodø, crossed the border to Sweden on ski, and presented his news photoes from the war in Norway in Stockholm. Egil Helle
Egil Helle (28 April 1923 – 2006) was a Norwegian newspaper editor, information worker and biographer. He was born in Bergen. He started his journalist career in 1942, during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, in the illegal press. The name of his illegal newspaper changed several times, from ''Ukenytt'' via ''Norges Demring'' to ''Fram''. He had to flee to Sweden towards the end of World War II. After the war he worked as a journalist in ''Bergens Arbeiderblad'' from 1945 to 1952 and in ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1952 to 1961. He was then the editor-in-chief of ''Bergens Arbeiderblad'' from 1961 to 1964, before working on the editor's board of ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1964 to 1975. He was the press spokesman in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1975 to 1978, and information director in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy from 1978 to 1991. Jørgen Hustad
Jørgen Ludolf Pedersen Hustad (29 January 1896 – 31 May 1978) was a Norwegian newspaper editor and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Gildeskål as a son of laborer Petter Hustad (1856–1947) og Helene Sofie Jensen (1859–1933). He had commerce school, and worked as a laborer in Narvik from 1910 to 1914. He married in 1916. In 1915 he was hired as manager of the newspaper ''Nordlys'', soon advancing to editor-in-chief. In 1917 he was hired in the Halden office of '' Smaalenenes Socialdemokrat''. He moved on to ''Østfold Arbeiderblad'' and was the editor-in-chief of that newspaper from 1922 to 1927. As editor he was sentenced to 90 days of light detention for encouraging the 1924 military strike. He was a member of Halden city council from 1923 to 1928, and deputy mayor in 1928. ''Bergensavisen'' (lit. "the Bergen newspaper"), usually shortened to ''BA'', is the second largest newspaper in Bergen, Norway. The paper is published in tabloid format. The newspaper's webpage ba.no is Bergen's largest local newspaper webpage. In 2006, ''Bergensavisen'' had a daily circulation of 30,719 on Monday to Saturday, and 29,782 on Sundays. Approximately 108,000 read the paper every day. Pre-history ''Bergensavisen'' had a predecessor in Arbeidervennen, founded by the Danish trade unionist Sophus Pihl in 1885.
