In Finland, a person must have a surname and at least one given name with up to three given names permitted. Astrid Lindgren
Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren (; ; 14 November 1907 – 28 January 2002) was a Swedish writer of fiction and screenplays. Pippi Longstocking ( sv, Pippi Långstrump) is the fictional main character in an eponymous series of children's books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Pippi was named by Lindgren's daughter Karin, who asked her mother for a get-well story when she was off school. Pippi is red-haired, freckled, unconventional and superhumanly strong – able to lift her horse one-handed. She is playful and unpredictable. She often makes fun of unreasonable adults, especially if they are pompous and condescending. Her anger comes out in extreme cases, such as when a man mistreats his horse. Peppi & Kokki were a Laurel & Hardy-style comedy duo from the Netherlands; they had their own television series in the 1970s. Gerard van Essen (1924–1997) played fat Peppi, Herman Kortekaas (1930) played lean Kokki. History Early years Gerard van Essen began his career in the 1940s at the circus with his brother Jacques as the Kame Brothers; he adopted the stagename John. Joseph "Peppi" Heiß (born 13 June 1963 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany) is a retired German ice hockey goaltender. He started his career with SC Riessersee in 1980. He played for Riessersee, Düsseldorfer EG and Kölner Haie. After playing about 1200 games in the German League and 140 games for the German national men's hockey team he retired in 2001 because of a knee injury. Hunndens Guiseppi "Peppi" Zellner (born March 14, 1975) is a former American football player in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals. He played college football at Fort Valley State University. Early years Zellner attended Mary Persons High School, where he lettered in football and basketball. In football, he was an All-Area selection and an All-District selection, and Prep Football Report named him as an All-Dixie selection. Peppimenarti is an Aboriginal Australian community in the Daly River region of the Northern Territory, Australia. Peppimenarti (or "Peppi", as it is known) is situated on Tom Turner Creek approximately south-west of Darwin. The population in the 2016 Census was 178. Emu Point, an outstation, is approximately from Peppimenarti. Etymology The locality name is drawn from the Aboriginal words ''peppi'' (rock) and ''menarti'' (large), referring to the rock formation that overlooks the community. At its base is a wide stream and a series of pools which form a significant sacred site.
