Peppermint Patty
Peppermint Patty is a fictional character featured in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip ''Peanuts''. Her full name is Patricia Reichardt, which is very rarely used in the strip. She is one of a small group in the strip who live across town from Charlie Brown and his school friends (although in ''The Peanuts Movie'', ''Snoopy in Space'', and '' The Snoopy Show'' she, Marcie, and Franklin live in the same neighborhood and attend the same school). She has freckles and "mousy-blah" hair, and generally displays the characteristics of a tomboy, although she also demonstrates an obsession with the smaller things in life. She made her first appearance on August 22, 1966. The following year she made her animated debut in the TV special ''You're in Love, Charlie Brown'' and began (in the comics) coaching a baseball team that played against Charlie Brown, and thereafter had other adventures with him. ''Peanuts'' is a print syndication, syndicated daily strip, daily and Sunday strip, Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. The strip's original run extended from 1950 to 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. ''Peanuts'' is among the most popular and influential in the history of comic strips, with 17,897 strips published in all, making it "arguably the longest story ever told by one human being". ''Play It Again, Charlie Brown'' is the seventh prime-time animated TV special based upon the comic strip ''Peanuts,'' by Charles M. Schulz. It originally aired on CBS on March 28, 1971. This was the first ''Peanuts'' TV special of the 1970s, airing nearly a year-and-a-half after ''It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown'', and was the first special to focus on a character other than Charlie Brown or Snoopy. (The feature film '' A Boy Named Charlie Brown'' had been released in between the two specials.) It also marked the first time someone other than Peter Robbins voiced Charlie Brown, which in this case was Chris Inglis as the character, since Robbins' voice deepened after the previous special. Also, all the other remaining original actors from the first special, except for Bill Melendez, were replaced by someone else. ''He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown'' is the fifth prime-time animated TV special based upon the popular comic strip ''Peanuts,'' by Charles M. Schulz. It was originally aired on the CBS network on February 14, 1968. Plot Snoopy's persistent mischief is angering the other kids in the neighborhood, and they all demand that Charlie Brown do something about it because "He's your dog, Charlie Brown!" In a letter to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, Charlie Brown writes that he is going to send Snoopy back for a refresher course in obedience. Snoopy loathes the idea, but Charlie Brown tells him it is for his own good. As it is a two-day trip, Charlie Brown calls Peppermint Patty and asks to let Snoopy stay there for one night en route; Peppermint Patty agrees, but a scheming Snoopy decides to stay on and has her waiting on him hand and foot, which confuses her. Leland Maurice Mendelson (March 24, 1933 – December 25, 2019) was an American animation producer and the executive producer of the many ''Peanuts'' animated specials. Biography Mendelson was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Mateo graduating from San Mateo High School. He graduated from Stanford University in 1954 with a degree in English. He was lieutenant in the Air Force for three years. He then worked several years for his father, a vegetable grower and shipper. Career Mendelson's career in television began in 1961, when he started working at San Francisco's KPIX-TV, where he created public service announcements. A fortunate find of some antique film footage of the 1915 San Francisco World's Fair led to Mendelson's first production, a documentary entitled ''The Innocent Fair''. Vincent Anthony Guaraldi (; birth name, né Dellaglio, July 17, 1928 – February 6, 1976) was an American jazz pianist best known for composing music for animated television adaptations of the ''Peanuts'' comic strip. His compositions for this series included their signature melody "Linus and Lucy" and the holiday standard "Christmas Time Is Here". He is also known for his performances on piano as a member of Cal Tjader's 1950s ensembles and for his own solo career.
