Peppermint Creek Theatre Company
Peppermint Creek Theatre Company was established in Mason, Michigan. It is a theater company out of East Lansing, Michigan. The founder and co-Artistic Director is Chad Badgero. Founded in 1995 and originally named the Peppermint Creek Players, PCTC performed one play a summer. The company is named after the creek that runs near founder Chad Badgero's childhood home in Mason, MI. As a fifth grader, Badgero was looking through old maps of Mason and found where his house would have been, and the creek was THEN called Peppermint Creek (it has since been changed to the name of the road it cuts through). This stuck with Badgero, and when it came time to name the group, it seemed appropriate and personal. The first two productions were presented at Mount Hope Presbyterian Church, and then moved to the MSU Gardens Conservatory. Mason, Michigan
Mason is the county seat of Ingham County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 8,252 at the 2010 census. Mason is the only city in the United States that serves as a county seat ahead of a state capital, as the nearby capital of Lansing is also largely located within Ingham County. Mason was named after Stevens T. Mason, the state's first governor. History In 1836 Charles Noble knew that Michigan would be seeking a central location for a new capital when it became a state. He purchased an area of forest, cleared , and founded Mason Center. The "Center" was soon dropped. In 1847, however, the state chose Lansing Township northward to be its capital due to its potential for water power. Noble managed to make Mason the county seat instead. Basement 414 or 'B414' was a venue for various forms of artistic expression located in Lansing, Michigan. The venue hosted a variety of art exhibitions of any medium including paintings, musical acts, video and performance art, and other crafts including things such as napkin art. Artists such as Andrew W.K., Dead Prez and the Peppermint Creek Theatre Company, among others, have performed there. Some well known 'Basement Bands' are Straight From the Fridge, Jason Spangler, Edible Intention, and Ouch! Me Arse.
