Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette
The Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette, is a historic 14-story hotel in downtown Peoria, Illinois, United States. Built in 1926, the building is Peoria's only surviving example of an upscale 1920s hotel. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Description Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer was the lead architect for the hotel. Trumbauer designed many prominent homes and public buildings on the East Coast, including several upscale hotels; his design for the Père Marquette was inspired by both his earlier hotel designs and other contemporary hotels such as the Waldorf-Astoria. Herbert Edmund Hewitt, a prominent local architect responsible for many of Peoria's major buildings of the period, collaborated with Trumbauer on the project.
