Finnish People's Unity Party ( fi, Suomen Kansan Yhtenäisyyden Puolue, SKYP) was a split from the Rural Party of Finland. The party was formed as some of the members of the parliamentary group of the Rural Party of Finland wanted to support the idea of re-electing the president of Finland Urho Kekkonen without presidential elections for the years 1974–1978. This was impossible for the chairman Veikko Vennamo due to the longstanding disputes between Vennamo and the Centre Party. The main goal for Urho Kekkonen was to diminish in the Northern Europe then tensions between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic as well as the reasons between the USA and the Soviet Union. People's Unity Party (Papua New Guinea)
The People's Unity Party was a political party in Papua New Guinea. Prior to the 1997 election, it was a junior coalition partner in the government of Julius Chan. The party was "demolished" at that election, losing four of its five seats, including leader and Minister for Home Affairs David Unagi, deputy leader Albert Karo, and MP Reuben Parua. Karo had defected from the People's Democratic Movement in September 1995. Its sole surviving MP after the 1997 election, Alfred Kaiabe (Komo-Magarima), became leader. The Popular Unity Party ( ar, حزب الوحدة الشعبية; french: link=no, Parti de l'Unité Populaire, PUP) is an Arab nationalist party in Tunisia. History and profile The party was founded in 1981 as a breakaway from the left-wing Popular Unity Movement (MUP) by members who disagreed with MUP leader Ahmed Ben Salah's policy to boycott elections. In 1983, the government of Mohammed Mzali legalised two moderate oppositional parties, including the PUP. The party won two seats in the general election held on 20 March 1994.
