Cecil Malcolm Peoli (October 13, 1894 – April 12, 1915) was an American aviator. He was, at the time of his death, the youngest professional aviator in the world. Biography Peoli was born on October 13, 1894 in New York City to Fanny Cassandra (née Smith) and Marino G. Peoli. His father was in the retail bicycle business and active in the cycling community in New York. His grandfather was the American-born Cuban artist and art collector Juan Jorge Peoli (1825–1893). Cecil Peoli attended Townsend Harris Hall (then a preparatory school of City College of New York) and was active in sports there, particularly gymnastics and diving. Peoli joined the New York Model Aero Club, designing model aircraft and joining in competitions in the New York area. He established a distance record for model aircraft propelled by rubber bands. Isidoro Malmierca Peoli
Isidoro Octavia Malmierca Peoli (25 September 193011 August 2001) was a Cuban politician who was Cuba's foreign minister from 1976 to 1992 and founder of the Cuban Communist Party. Born in Havana, he became involved in Cuba's turbulent left-wing politics as a young man, joining the tiny Popular Socialist Party, the Moscow-line predecessor of the Communist Party, during the years of right-wing regimes that preceded the 1959 revolution. The PSP had only a few thousand members, but was well-organized and had strong links with the urban unions. The PSP at first played little part in Fidel Castro's armed struggle against the dictatorship of General Fulgencio Batista, which took place mainly in the countryside, and only threw its weight behind Castro's guerrilla campaign a few months before Batista finally fled the country. Cuban Communist Party
The Communist Party of Cuba ( es, Partido Comunista de Cuba, PCC) is the sole ruling party of Cuba. It was founded on 3 October 1965 as the successor to the United Party of the Cuban Socialist Revolution, which was in turn made up of the 26th of July Movement and Popular Socialist Party that seized power in Cuba after the 1959 Cuban Revolution. The party governs Cuba as an authoritarian one-party state where dissidence and political opposition are prohibited and repressed. The Cuban constitution ascribes the role of the party to be the " leading force of society and of the state". The highest body within the PCC is the Party Congress, which convenes every five years.
