Pentimento (band)
Pentimento is an American punk rock band from Buffalo, New York. History Pentimento formed in the year 2011. Since then, they have released two full-length albums, two EPs, and two splits. In November 2011, the band supported Last Call on tour. Pentimento went on two co-headlining tours with Light Years. The first was a 2011–2012 winter U.S. tour with Light Years. The second tour was a European tour in February 2012. The band released their debut self-titled full length on November 13, 2012. Following complications with their label, the band decided to release their debut album for free. In the spring of 2013, the band went on the March Radness Tour with Candy Hearts and Allison Weiss. In the Summer of 2013, the band supported Less than Jake and Hostage Calm along the East Coast. In the fall of 2013, the band embarked on a tour with Real Friends, Forever Came Calling, and Mixtapes. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Light Years are an American pop punk band from Kent, Ohio. History Light Years formed in the year 2009 while vocalist Pat Kennedy worked at a Subway restaurant. Since then, they have released one full-length album and three EPs. In winter 2011–2012, the band went on a full U.S. tour with Pentimento. In February 2012, they went on a European tour with Pentimento. The band embarked on a summer tour in 2012 alongside Citizen and Turnover. In the spring of 2013, the band went on a tour with Safe. ''Candy Hearts'' is an American pop rock band from New Jersey and New York, formed in 2009. Background The band was formed by singer/guitarist Mariel Loveland and guitarist Kris Hayes in 2009. As the band’s primary songwriter, Loveland was the only member to see through every one of its incarnations. The band's first collection of demos, "Ripped Up Jeans and Silly Dreams", was released for free online in 2010 but never saw a physical release. It featured Loveland, Hayes (who also played bass on the recording) and drummer Louie Aronowitz. Aronowitz later left the band, and was replaced by drummer Nick Noto. They added bassist Greg Baldwin, and Hayes switched from the live bass player to lead guitar. Noto then left the group in 2011 and was replaced by Christina Picciano. John-Allison Weiss (born April 13, 1987) is a Los Angeles-based indie pop singer, songwriter, and performer. To date, they have released three full-length albums and several EPs. Their most recent LP, ''New Love'', was released on October 2, 2015, through SideOneDummy Records. Biography John-Allison Weiss emerged at the end of the 2000s as an early crowd-funding hero with a strong D.I.Y. ethos that has defined them throughout their career. Real Friends is an American pop punk band from Tinley Park, Illinois. To date, the band has released seven EPs and three studio albums. Previously signed to Fearless Records, the band is currently signed to Pure Noise Records. History Formation and EPs (2010–13) In the fall of 2010 bassist Kyle Fasel "wasn't happy" with the music he was working on and wished to start over. Forever Came Calling is an American pop punk band from Twentynine Palms, California. History The band formed in the year 2006 as a Senses Fail and Taking Back Sunday cover band. After multiple line up changes, John Swaba joined as bassist. They then recorded and released their EP, HopE P.assion. They were featured on the documentary, No Room For Rockstars which helped them gain fame. They released their first split EP with Handguns, in 2011 with Bryce on Drums. Mixtapes was an American pop punk band from Cincinnati, Ohio, signed to No Sleep Records. The band formed in 2009, and released multiple studio albums before entering an indefinite hiatus in 2014. In 2019, ''Consequence'' ranked Mixtapes at number 89 on its list ''The 100 Best Pop Punk Bands''. History Mixtapes was formed in 2009, by friends Ryan Rockwell and Maura Weaver. Reggie and the Full Effect is an American rock band, the solo project of James Dewees, the former keyboardist for The Get Up Kids. It has released seven full-length albums, the latest in 2018, and has toured with various associated acts in their promotion. History Early years (1998–2004) In the mid-1990s when he was playing with Coalesce, Dewees recorded four songs on a cassette tape as a joke, and would hand them out at concerts. After Matt Pryor received one, he urged Dewees to contact Ed Rose to record the material. With Pryor's help, Dewees recorded and released Reggie and the Full Effect's first album, ''Greatest Hits 1984–1987'', on Second Nature Recordings in 1999. ''Dads'' was an American indie rock band from Piscataway, New Jersey, composed of guitarist/vocalist Scott Scharinger and drummer/vocalist John Bradley. The band relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2014. In 2020, Vulture named their song "Shit Twins" as one of the 100 greatest emo songs of all time.
