Penrose railway station is a station at Penrose, Auckland, on the Southern Line of the Auckland railway network, New Zealand. It has an island platform and is reached by pedestrian over bridges from Great South Road and Station Road. It still has its original wooden station building on the platform. Penrose station is at the junction of the Onehunga Branch line with the North Auckland Line, and there is an adjacent side platform to the west for Onehunga Line services. The Onehunga Branch is single-track with no south-going junction at Penrose, and passengers transferring between Onehunga Line and Southern Line services must use the over bridge on the Station Road side to cross from one platform to the other. In April 2011, the island platform was lengthened to accommodate longer suburban passenger trains, by raising the height of the platform around the old station building. The City Rail Link (CRL) is a rail project currently under construction in Auckland, New Zealand. The project consists of a 3.5 km long double-track rail tunnel underneath Auckland's city centre, between Britomart Transport Centre and Mount Eden railway station. Two new underground stations will be constructed to serve the city centre: Te Waihorotiu near Aotea Square and Karanga-a-Hape near Karangahape Road. Pukekohe Railway Station
Pukekohe railway station is a railway station in Pukekohe, New Zealand. It is the southern terminus (but not for electric services) of the Southern Line of the Auckland railway network. The station has an island platform between the main lines and an original wooden station building complete with signal panel. Pukekohe was south of Auckland in 1882, or, in 1943, via Newmarket, or via Orakei and above sea level. Papakura railway station is a railway station in Papakura, New Zealand, on the Southern Line of the Auckland railway network. History The station was opened on 20 May 1875, as part of the Auckland and Mercer Railway on 20 May 1875, built by Brogden & Co, when it was extended from Penrose. On 2 October 1874 a deputation asked for the contractor to run trains from Penrose to Papakura and some services were available from October 1874. Onehunga railway station is the final station on the Onehunga Line of the Auckland railway network in New Zealand. It is located at the southern end of Onehunga Town Centre and consists of a single side platform which is accessed from Onehunga Mall and Princes Street.
