Penny Bernard Schaber
Penny Bernard Schaber is an American politician who served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 57th Assembly District from 2009 to 2015. Early life and education Schaber was raised in Mundelein, Illinois and remained in Illinois to complete her Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees from Southern Illinois University. After graduation, she volunteered for the Peace Corps, working at a hospital in Campo Grande, Brazil. When she returned to the United States, she attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she received a degree in physical therapy. The 57th Assembly District of the Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in east-central Wisconsin, the district comprises the northeast corner of Winnebago County and part of southern Outagamie County. The district contains most of the city of Appleton, including the downtown area, and most of the city of Menasha. Wisconsin () is a state in the upper Midwestern United States. Wisconsin is the 25th-largest state by total area and the 20th-most populous. WHBY (1150 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Kimberly, Wisconsin, that serves the Green Bay and Appleton- Oshkosh areas. The station is owned by Woodward Communications and it airs a news/talk radio format. WHBY's studios and microwave transmitter are located on East College Avenue in Appleton. By day, WHBY is powered at 20,000 watts. At night, the power increases to 25,000 watts. WHBY uses a directional antenna with a six-tower array to protect other stations on 1150 AM from interference. Michael G. Ellis (February 21, 1941July 20, 2018) was an American Republican politician. He served 44 years in the Wisconsin Legislature, including 12 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1971–1983) and 32 years in the Wisconsin State Senate (1983–2015), and was President of the Wisconsin Senate for the 101st Wisconsin Legislature and most of the 100th. The Wisconsin Senate is the upper house of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Together with the larger Wisconsin State Assembly they constitute the legislative branch of the state of Wisconsin. The powers of the Wisconsin Senate are modeled after those of the U.S. Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution ties the size of the State Senate to that of the Assembly, by limiting its size to no less than 1/4, nor more than 1/3, of the size of the Assembly. The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (G.A.B.) was a regulatory agency for the State of Wisconsin which administered and enforced Wisconsin law pertaining to campaign finance, elections, ethics and lobbying. The agency was re-organized, over the opposition of many Democratic legislators, into two separate agencies (Ethics and Elections Commissions) following several controversies.
