Pennsylvania Route 944 (PA 944) is a state highway located in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at PA 233 in Lower Mifflin Township. The eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 11 (US 11)/US 15 in East Pennsboro Township. PA 944 runs through northern Cumberland County a short distance south of Blue Mountain. The route heads east from PA 233 and runs through farmland, crossing PA 74 and forming a concurrency with PA 34. Farther east, PA 944 heads into the western suburbs of Harrisburg and intersects PA 114 in Wertzville before reaching an interchange with Interstate 81 (I-81). The route reaches Enola and comes to its end at US 11/US 15. PA 944 was designated in 1928 between Wertzville and PA 5 (now US 11/US 15) in Enola. Lower Mifflin Township, Pennsylvania
Lower Mifflin Township is a township in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,783 at the 2010 census. Geography The township is in northwestern Cumberland County, bordered to the north by Perry County. The county boundary follows the crest of Blue Mountain, which in this area makes a large double bend known as Doubling Gap. Colonel Denning State Park is located within the bend, in the valley of Doubling Gap Creek, which flows south out of the mountain area and across the township to Conodoguinet Creek, which forms the southern boundary of the township and is a tributary of the Susquehanna River. The Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) crosses the southern end of the township, but with no direct access. The route runs from the Maryland state line south of Waynesboro, where the road continues into that state as Maryland Route 64 (MD 64), north to PA 233 in the Upper Mifflin Township community of McCrea. PA 997 heads north from the state line through agricultural areas in the Cumberland Valley and passes through Waynesboro, where it intersects PA 16, and Mont Alto, where it intersects the south end of PA 233, before coming to U.S. Route 30 (US 30) in Greenwood. Letterkenny Army Depot (originally Letterkenny Ordnance Depot), the Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence (CITE) for Air Defense and Tactical Missile Systems, was established in 1942. Pennsylvania Route 641 (PA 641) is a state route located in Central Pennsylvania in the United States. The route is long and runs from U.S. Route 522 (US 522) near Shade Gap east to US 11/US 15 in Camp Hill.
