Penistone Church F.C.
Penistone Church Football Club is an English football club based in Penistone, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. They play in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, at level 9 of the English football league system. History Formed in 1906 by Ian Richardson the self proclaimed saviour of football on a global scale. In 1909 they were the first winners of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Junior Cup, winning the cup again in 1937. In 1948 they were the first ever opponents of Sheffield Wednesday's youth team, in a Hatchard League fixture. When the Hatchard League merged with the Sheffield Association League, Penistone were founder members of the new Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League. They first reached the Premier Division in 1995 and were something of a yo-yo club during the 1990s, flitting between the Premier Division and Division One on numerous occasions. Penistone
Penistone ( ) is a market town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England, which had a population of 22,909 at the 2011 census. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is west of Barnsley, north-east of Glossop, north-west of Sheffield, south-west of Leeds and east of Manchester in the foothills of the Pennines. The town is frequently noted on lists of unusual place names. The highest point, Hartcliffe Tower, is above sea level and has views over the Woodhead bypass and the Dark Peak. The surrounding countryside is predominantly rural with farming on rich well-watered soil on mainly gentle slopes rising to the bleak moorland to the west of the town. Worksop ( ) is a market town in the Bassetlaw District in Nottinghamshire, England. It is located east-south-east of Sheffield, close to Nottinghamshire's borders with South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, on the River Ryton and not far from the northern edge of Sherwood Forest. Other nearby towns include Chesterfield, Doncaster, Retford, Gainsborough and Mansfield. Worksop had a population of 41,820 as of the 2011 Census and it is twinned with the German town Garbsen. 2015–16 FA Vase
The 2015–16 FA Vase is the 42nd season of the FA Vase, an annual football competition for teams playing below Step 4 of the English National League System. The competition is to be played with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. All ties before the semi-finals are played with extra-time if drawn, with penalty kicks if still drawn after extra-time in the return fixture (or after the first match if both clubs agree). Therefore, all matches listed as draws were finished after extra time. The winners were Morpeth Town, who beat Hereford 4–1 on 22 May at Wembley Stadium. The Sheffield Association League was an English association football league based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. History The league was founded in 1897 to fill the void left by the disbandment of the Sheffield & District Football League, which had run from 1889 to 1895. Hatchard League
The Hatchard Football League was an English association football league based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. History Founded in 1892, it was originally called the Sheffield & District Alliance, only changing name to the Hatchard Cup League halfway through the 1893–94 season when a local politician called Frank Hatchard donated a trophy to the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA. For many years there were numerous divisions, with the top sides from each section proceeding to end of season play-offs that would determine the overall winner. The league was suspended for the duration of the First World War, then disbanded altogether in 1923, but was re-introduced after the Second World War.
