Penang State Executive Council
The Penang State Executive Council is the executive authority of the state government of Penang, a Malaysian state. Led by the Chief Minister, the head of government who is appointed by Penang's head of state, the Governor, the Executive Council also comprises between four and ten other State Assemblymen from the Penang State Legislative Assembly, as well as the State Secretary, the State Legal Adviser and the State Financial Officer. While being smaller in size, the Penang State Executive Council is analogous in structure and role to the Malaysian Federal Cabinet. As federal and state responsibilities differ, there are a number of portfolios that differ between the federal and state governments. Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman
Dato' Ir. Ahmad Zakiyuddin bin Abdul Rahman (born 1959) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang I and Member of the Penang State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pinang Tunggal since May 2018. He has also served as Deputy President of the Penang Islamic Religious Council since 2018. The Chief Minister of Penang is the head of government in the Malaysian state of Penang. According to convention, the chief minister is the leader of the majority party or largest coalition party of the Penang State Legislative Assembly. The 14th Penang election was held on 9 May 2018 to elect the State Assemblymen of the 14th Penang State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Penang. The Cabinet of Malaysia (Malay: ''Jemaah Menteri Malaysia'') is the executive branch of the Government of Malaysia. Led by the Prime Minister, the cabinet is a council of ministers who are accountable collectively to the Parliament.
