Penang Road, George Town
Penang Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It runs between Farquhar Street to the north and KOMTAR to the south. The road is a one-way road, with the traffic directed southwards towards KOMTAR. Penang Road is one of the major streets in George Town, as it is heavily used daily by motorists and Rapid Penang public buses heading towards KOMTAR from the UNESCO Site and Gurney Drive. In addition, Penang Road is home to a number of attractions, such as the bars at Upper Penang Road and Chowrasta Market, one of the few wet markets still in operation within George Town. Penang Island City Council

Leith Street, George Town
Leith Street is a narrow road within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Once known as an enclave for rich Hakka tycoons, it is home to the famous Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. The road was laid out in the early 19th century and named after one of the first Governors of Penang. Etymology Leith Street was named after George Alexander William Leith, who became the Lieutenant-Governor of Penang between 1800 and 1803. During Leith's tenure, he succeeded in gaining a narrow hinterland on the Malay Peninsula directly opposite Penang Island from Kedah; the land was subsequently named ''Province Wellesley'' (now Seberang Perai). Captain Francis Light ( – 21 October 1794) was a British explorer and the founder of the British colony of Penang (in modern-day Malaysia) and its capital city of George Town in 1786. Light and his lifelong partner, Martina Rozells, were the parents of William Light, who founded the city of Adelaide in South Australia. Gurney Drive
Gurney Drive (,, ) is a popular seafront promenade within George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The road is also famous for the street cuisine at the seafront's hawker centre and has been listed as one of the 25 best streets worldwide to visit by the Australian travel magazine, ''The Traveler''. In addition, Gurney Drive has become part of George Town's second Central Business District due to the mushrooming of skyscrapers and shopping malls.
