This is a list of islands and other locations in the '' Pirates of the Caribbean'' film series. Davy Jones' Locker Davy Jones' Locker, based on a real superstition of the same name, is a fictional place introduced in ''Dead Man's Chest'' and featured prominently in '' At World's End''. The Locker is similar to purgatory, and is the destination for souls that die at sea. Davy Jones was entrusted with the task of ferrying the souls of the deceased into the next world by the goddess Calypso. After Jack Sparrow is killed by the Kraken at the end of ''Dead Man's Chest'', Calypso organizes a mission to rescue his soul from the Locker back to the land of the living. The ''Black Pearl'' (formerly known as the ''Wicked Wench'') is a fictional ship in the ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' film series. In the screenplay, the ''Black Pearl'' is easily recognized by her distinctive black hull and sails. Captained by Captain Jack Sparrow, she is said to be "nigh uncatchable". Terry Rossio (born July 2, 1960) is an American screenwriter. He co-wrote the films ''Aladdin'', ''Shrek'', and all five of the ''Pirates of the Caribbean'' series. An audio commentary is an additional audio track, usually digital, consisting of a lecture or comments by one or more speakers, that plays in real time with a video.
