Johnny Peirson
John Frederick Peirson (July 21, 1925April 16, 2021) was a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins from 1946 to 1958. After retiring he became a commentator for the Bruins, serving in that role for more than two decades. Peirson played one season of university hockey with the McGill Redmen and was part of their Queen's Cup-winning side in 1946. He was signed by the Boston Bruins and played for two of their minor league affiliates until 1947, when he made his NHL debut. After spending eight seasons with the organization and making two All-Star appearances and the 1953 Stanley Cup Finals, he briefly retired in 1954 before returning the following year. Francis Peirson
Major Francis Peirson (January 1757 – 6 January 1781) was a British Army officer who was serving on Jersey, in the Channel Islands off the coast of France. He was killed in the Battle of Jersey, one of the last battles to take place in the British Islands. Early career Educated at Warrington Academy, Peirson joined the British Army in 1772. In 1779 he was appointed to the 95th Regiment of Foot, a fencible regiment raised for the defence of the British isles from invasion and was deployed with the regiment to Jersey the following year. Battle of Jersey and death Following the capture and imprisonment of Major Moses Corbet, Commander of the Jersey Garrison, by French troops on 6 January 1781, Peirson refused French demands to surrender and took command of the Garrison. Peirson Frank
Sir Thomas Peirson Frank (23 July 1881 – 12 November 1951) was a British civil engineer and surveyor. He is particularly remembered as "the man who saved London from drowning" in the Blitz. Frank was born in 1881 at Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire, the son of farmer Thomas Peirson Frank and Jane Shepherd. He was elected to the Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers in 1937 and was president of thRoyal Town Planning Institutein 1944. He was elected president of the Institution of Civil Engineers for the November 1945 to November 1946 session. Frank was chief engineer of the London County Council from 1931 to 1946 and coordinating officer for Road Repairs and Public Utility Services during the period 1939-1945. Lydia Jane Wheeler Peirson (1802–1862; sometimes spelled Pierson) was an American poet, nicknamed "the forest minstrel". Early years Born in Middletown, Connecticut, she was the daughter to William Wheeler. She developed an aptitude for literary works at an early age, writing and singing verses before age 12. These first songs were about God and nature. She memorized entire books, including ''The Shipwreck'', ''The Lady of the Lake'', ''Lalla-Rookh'', ''The Bride of Abydos'', and ''The Corsair''. James John Peirson (born 13 October 1992) is an Australian cricketer. Domestic career Peirson plays for Queensland and the Redlands Tigers in Brisbane Grade Cricket. He made his List A debut on 17 October 2013 for Queensland against New South Wales. He made his first-class debut for Cricket Australia XI against the West Indians during their tour of Australia in December 2015. Robert Peirson
Robert Peirson (2 June 1821 – 15 June 1891) was an English astronomer and theoretical physicist. Born into a wealthy family at their residence at No. 5, Barnsbury Park, Islington, Middlesex, Robert Peirson lived his life there except during his residence at Cambridge. After leaving Cambridge he lived a reclusive life and occupied himself with the study of astronomy and optics. In 1858 he purchased several acres of land in Wimbledon Park, Surrey, and arranged the construction there during 1859 to 1861 of a stately residence, which he named ''Devonshire Lodge''. However, he suffered a severe financial reverse shortly before he could move there. Consequently, he had to sell ''Devonshire Lodge'' and remain at his Barnsbury residence. He never married. Peirson Mitchell Hall (July 31, 1894 – December 8, 1979) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Education and career Born on July 31, 1894, in Armour, South Dakota, Hall attended two years of high school in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Samuel Peirson
Samuel Peirson (c. 1647 - 1720) was an English organist. Career Peirson succeeded John Reading as Organist of Chichester Cathedral in October 1677. He was suspended for three months in 1711 for his public assertion that "''the late King William was a pickpocket... he had no more religion than a dog!''". Henry Peirson Harland
Henry Peirson Harland (1 September 1876 – 11 August 1945) was a unionist politician in Northern Ireland. Born in Uxbridge, Harland studied at Rugby School before being appointed as a director or Harland and Wolff, and of Short and Harland.
