Juliette Peirce (; d. October 4, 1934) was the second wife of the mathematician and philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce. Robert Peirce ( January 1863–1933) was a British-born civil engineer who served as Municipal Engineer in Penang, Malaysia and Singapore. Career Peirce was trained as a civil engineer in Manchester, England before moving to the Penang, Straits Settlements in 1891. He started his career articled to Mr. R. Vawser, M. Inst. C.E., of Manchester but spent several years in Birmingham, where he was engaged as resident engineer for the corporation working on the construction of cable tramways. Before arriving in Penang, Peirce was employed as assistant to Pritchard & Co., civil engineers, of London and Birmingham. 1891–1901 : Penang Municipal Engineer Peirce was engineer to the Municipal Commissioners of George Town, Penang from 1891 to 1901. Waldo Peirce (December 17, 1884 – March 8, 1970) was an American painter, who for many years reveled in living the life of a bohemian expatriate. Peirce was both a prominent painter and a well-known colorful figure in the world of the arts. In a modern account, he was described as Rabelaisian, bawdy, witty, robust, wild, lusty, protean, lecherous, and luscious. He was sometimes called "the American Renoir." Peirce once said he never worked a day in his life. He did, however, spend many hours every day for 50 years of his life painting still lifes, figures, and landscapes as well as hundreds of pictures of his beloved families (he was married four times and had numerous children). Victor Peirce
Victor George Peirce (11 November 1958 – 1 May 2002) was an Australian gangster from Melbourne, Victoria. Peirce was a member of the Pettingill family, which was headed by matriarch and former Richmond brothel owner Kath Pettingill. Walsh Street police shootings In 2005, Peirce's widow, Wendy Peirce gave an interview to Australian media detailing how her husband planned and carried out the 1988 Walsh Street police shootings, a crime for which he was acquitted by jury along with three accomplices after she failed to give truthful evidence in court. Joseph Peirce (June 25, 1748 – September 12, 1812) was a United States representative from New Hampshire. He was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He attended school in Portsmouth and served during the American Revolutionary War in Colonel Pierse Long's regiment in 1775 and 1776. His father was Isaac Peirce (1722–?) and mother was Mary Hardy, daughter of Captain Joseph Hardy of Salem, Massachusetts. A son Joseph Hardy Peirce (1773–1832) became active in politics, and grandson Henry A. Peirce (1808–1885) ran shipping businesses and served as U.S. Minister to the Kingdom of Hawaii. Peirce was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1788, 1789, 1792–1795, 1800, and 1801. He also served as Portsmouth town clerk 1789–1794.
