Peggy (Discover Card)
Peggy is a character used in ads for the Discover Card. In the ads, Peggy is a bearded man with a stereotypical Eastern European accent and a moth-eaten sweater. Peggy answers the phone for "USA Prime Credit," for whom he gives evasive or unhelpful customer service. He works in an unspecified frozen location, and his call center is a jumble of rubbish, outdated electronics, and stray personal effects. The character of Peggy was created by the Martin Agency of Richmond, Virginia. He is played by actor Tudor Petrut, who was born in Romania and uses his native accent in portraying the character. On the agency's site, Peggy has given personal acknowledgments to several fans, up to and including voicing one fan's proposal to his girlfriend. Discover Card
Discover is a credit card brand issued primarily in the United States. It was introduced by Sears in 1985. When launched, Discover did not charge an annual fee and offered a higher-than-normal credit limit, features that were disruptive to the existing credit card industry. A subsequent innovation was "Cashback Bonus" on purchases. Most cards with the Discover brand are issued by Discover Bank, formerly the Greenwood Trust Company. Recordings of prank phone calls became a staple of the obscure and amusing cassette tapes traded among musicians, sound engineers, and media traders in the United States from the late 1970s. Patrick Timothy Kane II (born November 19, 1988) is an American professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Timothy Thomas Jr. (born April 15, 1974) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who mainly played in the National Hockey League (NHL), most notably with the Boston Bruins. He was born in Flint, Michigan and is a graduate of Davison High School. Thomas played college hockey for the University of Vermont for four years, from 1993–1997, during which he was drafted 217th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Bobby Bowden
Robert Cleckler Bowden (; November 8, 1929 – August 8, 2021) was an American college football coach. Bowden coached the Florida State Seminoles of Florida State University (FSU) from 1976 to 2009 and is considered one of the greatest college football coaches of all time for his accomplishments with the Seminoles. During his time at Florida State, Bowden led FSU to an Associated Press and Coaches Poll National Title in 1993 and a BCS National Championship in 1999, as well as twelve Atlantic Coast Conference championships once FSU joined the conference in 1991.
