Pegboard Nerds
Pegboard Nerds is a Scandinavian electronic music group, consisting of Norwegian DJ Alexander Odden and Danish DJ Michael Parsberg. The name Pegboard Nerds is an anagram of the duo's surnames, Odden and Parsberg. The duo first met in 2005 and formed the group in 2011. Previously, their records were released under separate projects and both have been producing since the 1990s. On 21 October 2015, the duo released ''Pink Cloud'' to fund breast cancer research which went to number 2 on iTunes Dance Albums, and into the Top 10 on ''Billboard'' Dance albums. In 2015, their collaboration with Jauz, a single titled "Get on Up", was one of the top bass house songs of the year. "Superstar" with Nghtmre and Krewella was the number 1 dubstep song on the Beatport Dubstep Charts of May 2016 and peaked at 28 on ''Billboard''s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart in October 2016. "Superstar" is a song by Danish-Norwegian electronic music duo Pegboard Nerds and American DJ Nghtmre featuring American electronic dance music band Krewella. It was released on 27 May 2016 by independent electronic record label Monstercat. Prior to release, the song was premiered during a DJ set by Pegboard Nerds and Krewella at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub in early 2016. Krewella
Krewella is an American electronic dance music band from the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, Illinois, United States, that formed in 2007. Their musical style has been mainly described as EDM, dance-rock, and dance-pop. However, Krewella's style has been influenced by a number of electronic sub genres, including progressive house, electro, dubstep, drum and bass, trap music and future bass. Their debut EP, ''Play Hard,'' was released on June 18, 2012, exclusively on Beatport, followed by its release on other digital platforms on June 26, 2012. Later, their debut album, '' Get Wet,'' was released on September 24, 2013, on iTunes. The band consists of sisters Jahan Yousaf and Yasmine Yousaf. Originally a trio, their third member and producer Kristopher Trindl left the band in 2014. Dance/Mix Show Airplay (formerly Hot Dance Airplay) is a monitored electronic dance music radio chart that is published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. History The chart came about as a result of the small but influential impact of electronic dance music on the radio in the United States and the stations that program it. Debuting as Hot Dance Radio Airplay in the issue dated October 25, 2003, it initially ranked the 25 most-played songs over eight radio stations playing mainly dance music and monitored by Nielsen BDS. When published for the first time, " Just the Way You Are" by Milky was ranked as the number-one song, but that was following after a ten-week unpublished chart history. ''Nerds by Nature'' is the fifth extended play by electronic duo Pegboard Nerds. Nerds by Nature was released on 13 January 2017, by independent electronic music label Monstercat. Background and composition When announcing Nerds by Nature, Odden and Parsberg stated “We are very excited for this release! It went back and forth from being an EP and an album but ultimately we ended up with an EP as we felt that would be a stronger package. We’re stoked to have people finally hear the tracks in their full glory”. Reception and release Nerds by Nature gained generally positive reviews with Cameron Sunkel of EDM.com stating "there's perhaps no better time to be a fan, as this EP truly has something to offer everyone". Sam Vogel, also known by his stage name Jauz ( ), is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer based in San Francisco, United States. He founded his own record label, Bite This, in 2017. Early life Vogel grew up in Northern California. He began playing guitar and producing electronic music on his computer at the age of 15. He went to Icon Collective music production school. He previously went to a film school in Loyola Marymount University where he joined Kappa Sigma before deciding to pursue a musical career, prompting him to enroll in Icon Collective. He began releasing future house tracks before adopting the stage name Jauz. His career kickstarted when fellow musician Kennedy Jones had played one of his remixes.
