Holders of this dignity enjoyed similar privileges to those of the peerage of France during the , though in neither country did they have the significant constitutional political role the House of Lords gave to the Peerage of England and later Peerage of the United Kingdom. José María Téllez-Girón y Benavides (Madrid, 25 May 1685 – 18 May 1733), 7th Duke of Osuna, 7th Marquess of Peñafiel, 11th Count of Ureña, was a Spanish military, diplomat and a Grandee of Spain. They comprise nobles who hold the most important historical landed titles in Spain or its former colonies.
