Pedro Meyer
Pedro Meyer (born October 6, 1935 in Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish photographer based in Mexico. He is one of the pioneers of the digital revolution in contemporary photography. He was the founder and president of the ''Consejo Mexicano de Fotografía'' (Mexican Council of Photography) and organizer of the first three ''Latin American Photography Colloquium''s. Career Besides his artistic photographic work, Meyer has been a teacher in various institutions, as well as the curator, editor, founder and director of the photography ZoneZero website, which hosts the work of over a thousand photographers from all over the world, and is visited by more than 500,000 people each month. Guggenheim Fellowships are grants that have been awarded annually since by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation to those "who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts." Each year, the foundation issues awards in each of two separate competitions: * One open to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada. * The other to citizens and permanent residents of Latin America and the Caribbean.
