Pedro Frugone
La Ley (; ) were a Chilean rock band formed by Andrés Bobe, Rodrigo Aboitiz, Luciano Rojas and Mauricio Claveria with Beto Cuevas. History After an unsuccessful first album, ''Desiertos'' (1990), they released '' Doble Opuesto'' (1991), which appears as the official first album of the band. Singles like "Desiertos," "Tejedores de Ilusión," and "Prisioneros de la Piel" made them stars in Chile, Argentina and Mexico, especially after the release of '' La Ley'', their second recording (1993). After Bobe's death in 1994, La Ley continued with a new guitarist, Pedro Frugone, and released two more albums; in 1995, the band released ''Invisible'', the album was their international breakout record and provided to the band their best-selling studio album to date, it included the number ones "Dia Cero" and "El Duelo". ''Vértigo'' is La Ley's fifth album, released in 1998. Content and reception Due to the success of ''Invisible'', the band hardly found time to record what would be their next album. However, in 1997 they began recording and announced the album's release date for the middle of that summer, but it was later delayed until 1998. At the time, Rodrigo Aboitiz (the band's keyboardist) caused a series of troubles, missing the first weeks of recording. Generally, the album was completed with the same band members that worked on ''Invisible'', but just before the release, Rodrigo Aboitiz left the band due to a drug problem. After the album was finished, he left the band, effectively leaving the band without a studio keyboardist. One month before the release of the album, the first single, "Fotofobia", was released and slashed by critics. Adaptación
''Adaptación'' is the eighth and final studio album of the Chilean group La Ley, released on April 8, 2016. It is the first album that unites the band after a 9-year hiatus which had started in 2005. Notably thirteen years separate ''Adaptación'' of its predecessor studio album, ''Libertad''. The album was produced by Jean-Yves ''Jeeve'' Ducornet (co-author of the song ''Quiero Creer'' by Beto Cuevas and the promotional single ''Ya No Estás''), Guillermo Porro and the same band. The album has a total of 12 songs. However, in the words of the members of the band, there will be a ''deluxe'' version featuring three ''bonus tracks'' (''War of Love'', ''Prisionero Sin Palabras'' and ''Sigo Viendo''). ''Libertad'' is La Ley's seventh studio album. It was inspired primarily by the September 11 attacks. The album contains the hits "Ámate y Sálvate", "Más allá" and "Mi Ley". This is the band’s second studio album as a trio. Album theme The album's main theme is based on the September 11 attacks and its subsequent effects. Beto Cuevas also used different societal factors as themes for the songs. Most of the songs are about the search for liberty (expressing it the songs "Libertad" and "Ámate y Sálvate") while others talk about the world in which we are living today ("Y Los Demás"). Other songs deal with the corruption of politicians ("¿Sabes Quien Eres?") and a little about the world today ("Esa Es La Verdad" and "Mi Ley.") ''Historias e Histeria'' is La Ley's second greatest hits compilation album. The band was convinced to do this in lieu of a new studio album. The band had to make an album of 16 songs (with three new ones) in very limited amount of time. The album was released almost immediately after their previous album '' Libertad'' after only one year of the latter's release. The album contains some of the most popular songs of each of their albums plus three new songs, "Mirate", "Histeria", and "Bienvenido al Anochecer." The first single of the album ''Mírate'' was released while the band was still promoting the final single "Mi Ley" from the album, ''Libertad''. In 2001, Chilean rock band La Ley participated in MTV's Unplugged series in Miami, Florida, US.
