Neil Peart
Neil Ellwood Peart OC (; September 12, 1952 – January 7, 2020) was a Canadian-American musician, best known as the drummer and primary lyricist of the rock band Rush. Peart earned numerous awards for his musical performances, including an induction into the '' Modern Drummer'' Readers Poll Hall of Fame in 1983 at the age of thirty, making him the youngest person ever so honoured. Known to fans by the nickname 'The Professor', his drumming was renowned for its technical proficiency and his live performances for their exacting nature and stamina. Rush (band)
Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in 1968 in Toronto, that was comprised primarily of Geddy Lee (bass, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (drums, percussion, lyricist). The band formed in Toronto in 1968 by Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bass guitarist/vocalist Jeff Jones, who was immediately replaced by Lee. After Lee joined, the band went through several lineup configurations before arriving at its classic power trio lineup with the addition of Peart in July 1974, who replaced Rutsey four months after the release of their 1974 self-titled debut album; this lineup remained intact for the remainder of the band's career. Alan McGregor Peart, (25 July 1922 – 5 September 2018) was a New Zealand fighter pilot and flying ace of the Second World War. He served in Europe with No. 610 Squadron, and with No. 81 Squadron in North Africa, Malta, Sicily, Italy and the Far East. He is credited with the destruction of six enemy aircraft, plus a share in another aircraft destroyed. Myles Spencer Peart-Harris (born 19 September 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Forest Green Rovers, on loan from club Brentford. Peart-Harris is a graduate of the Chelsea Academy and transferred to Brentford in 2021. He was capped by England at U16 level. John George Peart (3 October 1888 – 3 September 1948) was an English association football, footballer who played forward (association football), centre forward for 13 different teams, in a career which spanned World War I. After he retired he became a football manager until his death in 1948. Peart was a centre forward who had a nomadic career. He played for eight league clubs in a career which spanned 19 years and every division of the English Football League. He also played non-league football in the Southern Football League, Southern and Welsh Football League, Welsh leagues, as well as guesting for other clubs during the First World War. Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Norris Peart (12 February 1900 – 4 September 1942) was a New Zealand army officer and the fourth headmaster of King's College. Biography Peart was born on December 24, 1890, in California, the son of Benjamin Franklin Peart and Sophia Elizabeth Peart (born Fiske).
