Pearl Dykstra
Pearl A. Dykstra is a Dutch social scientist with a background in sociology, psychology, gerontology and demography. She is a specialist on intergenerational solidarity, aging societies, family change, aging and the life course, and loneliness. She holds the position of Professor of Empirical Sociology at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She was the Deputy Chair (2016-2020) of the High Level Group of scientists advising the Cabinet of European Commissioners. She is a member of the Board of the Social Sciences and Humanities Division of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research. She is also an elected member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, being chosen in 2004. Sarnia
Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron. Sarnia is located on the eastern bank of the junction between the Upper and Lower Great Lakes where Lake Huron flows into the St. Clair River in the Southwestern Ontario region, which forms the Canada–United States border, directly across from Port Huron, Michigan. A Bachelor of Science (BS, BSc, SB, or ScB; from the Latin ') is a bachelor's degree awarded for programs that generally last three to five years. The International Science Council (ISC) is an international non-governmental organization that unites scientific bodies at various levels across the social and natural sciences. The ISC was formed with its inaugural general assembly on 4 July 2018 by the merger of the former International Council for Science and the International Social Science Council (ISSC), making it one of the largest organisations of this type. The Academia Europaea is a pan-European Academy of Humanities, Letters, Law, and Sciences. Royal Holland Society Of Sciences And Humanities
The Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities), located on the east side of the Spaarne in downtown Haarlem, Netherlands, was established in 1752 and is the oldest society for the sciences in the country. The society has been housed in its present location, called Hodshon Huis, since 1841. Nearby the society is the Teylers Museum, a closely related museum of natural history founded in 1784. Generations And Gender Programme
The Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) is a series of panel surveys on families, life course trajectories and gender relations administered by the Generations and Gender Programme to improve demographic and social developments among several countries in Europe as well as Australia and Japan. The programme has collected at least one wave of surveys in more than 19 countries, with an average of 9,000 respondents per country. The importance of the GGS data is documented by its uptake in the research community, generating over 1,200 peer-reviewed publications. It was launched by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, as a successor to its previous Fertility and Family Survey in the 1990s.
