Peaceful (film)
''Peaceful'' (french: De son vivant; lit. ''In His Lifetime'') is a 2021 French drama film directed and co-written by Emmanuelle Bercot, starring Catherine Deneuve and Benoît Magimel. The film had its premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Portraying a man facing a serious illness and undeniable death, Benoît Magimel won the Award for Best Actor at the 27th Lumières Awards and 47th César Awards. Premise Benjamin, a theatre professor, whose life expectancy is estimated to be a year after diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. Cast Production Principal photography began on 11 October 2019. Emmanuelle Bercot (born 6 November 1967) is a French actress, film director and screenwriter. Her film '' Clément'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Her 2013 film '' On My Way'' premiered in competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. Her 2015 film '' Standing Tall'' was selected to open the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain causes cell death. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic, due to lack of blood flow, and hemorrhagic, due to bleeding. The César Award is the national film award of France. It is delivered in the ' ceremony and was first awarded in 1976. The nominations are selected by the members of twelve categories of filmmaking professionals and supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
