Peace Of Mind (band)
Peace of Mind was a Christian rapcore/ nu metal band composed of rapper KJ-52, rock artist Pete Stewart (now lead vocalist of Grammatrain), keyboardist/producer Todd Collins, and drummer Rick May. Songs were written and performed in hip hop form by KJ-52 before being edited by Stewart. Although the band's one self-titled album was not largely popular, it was well received among KJ-52's following. Another Peace of Mind album has been rumored, though KJ announced at his podcast that he will only consider writing another if opportunity comes, noting that his solo work is better received. The band was signed to BEC Recordings. The band was a studio project with no true intentions to do anything beyond record the album. According to KJ, he and Drummer Rick "Mayday" May, never met in person and that two men on the cover, Devin Marlowe and F. Reid Shippen, were not a part of the band. Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Nu Metal
Nu metal (sometimes stylized as nü-metal, sometimes called aggro-metal) is a subgenre of that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge. BEC (Brandon Ebel Company) Recordings is a Christian rock record label that is an imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. The label was formed in 1997 in partnership with the EMI Christian Music Group. Jonah Kirsten Sorrentino (born June 26, 1975), better known by his stage name KJ-52, is a Christian rapper from Tampa, Florida. The "KJ" part of his name refers to his old rap alias, "King J. Mac," a name which he later described in one of his podcasts as "horribly cheesy." Pete Stewart is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer from Seattle, Washington. He is the lead singer and guitarist of Grammatrain, was the lead singer for The Accident Experiment, and is the former guitarist of Tait. Stewart released solo albums in 1999, 2007 and 2010. He served as producer, songwriter, and guitarist for the debut albums of Tait (the solo project of Michael Tait) and TobyMac, the latter of which sold over 500,000 copies. Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular". Grammatrain
Grammatrain is an alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington who were active in the Christian rock industry in the 1990s. After disbanding in 1998, the group reunited as a mainstream act in 2009 and released their third full-length album entitled ''Imperium'' the following year. History Singer/guitarist Pete Stewart, bassist Dalton Roraback and his drummer brother Paul Roraback recorded a self-titled three-song demo tape in 1994.
