Peace Burial At Sea
Peace Burial At Sea are a Newcastle upon Tyne-based four-piece post-rock band which combine elements of post-hardcore with electronic textures, incorporating lyrical themes inspired by Soviet propaganda, horror films, science fiction, and the occult. Their name was inspired by J. M. W. Turner's 1842 Peace – Burial at Sea, painting of a similar name (below right). The band originated in Hexham, Northumberland and released their debut album ''This Is Such A Quiet Town'' in 2003. A self-titled second album was released in 2006. A digital-only EP containing the album track "Czarina Catherine" was also released (date unknown), which included two other songs that do not appear elsewhere: "Easy Meat for Faceless Men" and "This is a Godless Town." The band's early music was well-received, with reviews that included a rating of 'KKKK' from Kerrang! for their first album. Hexham
Hexham ( ) is a market town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in Northumberland, England, on the south bank of the River Tyne, formed by the confluence of the North Tyne and the South Tyne at Warden, Northumberland, Warden nearby, and close to Hadrian's Wall. Hell Is For Heroes (band)
Hell Is for Heroes are an English post-hardcore band from London. Founder members Will McGonagle and Joe Birch (previously of Symposium) were joined by James Findlay, Tom O'Donoghue and later Justin Schlosberg. The band played their formative shows in West London throughout 2001. After two independently released singles, Hell Is for Heroes released their debut album in February 2003 on EMI. ''The Neon Handshake'' was produced and recorded in Los Angeles at Sound City Studios and mixed in Umeå, Sweden at Tonteknik by Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström. The band's A&R was managed by Duncan Illing. The band and their A&R left EMI in 2004. The band released its second album ''Transmit Disrupt'' independently, before signing a deal with Burning Heart Records, who subsequently re-released it in 2006. Stephen Paul Lamacq (born 16 October 1964), sometimes known by his nickname Lammo (given to him by John Peel), is an English disc jockey, currently working with the BBC radio station BBC Radio 6 Music.
