''Pazhani'' is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Bhimsingh. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, S. S. Rajendran, R. Muthuraman and Devika. The film, produced by A.P.Chinnappan, had musical score by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy and was released on 14 January 1965. The film was a critical success and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil under the Certificate of Merit category. It is a remake of G.V. Iyer's 1962 Kannada film '' Bhoodana''. ''Bhoodana'' is a 1962 Indian Kannada-language film jointly directed and produced by G. V. Iyer and P.S. Gopalkrishna. The film stars Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar, Udaykumar and K. S. Ashwath. The film has musical score by G. K. Venkatesh. The movie starred Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar and Udaykumar - all 3 in full-fledged roles in a single movie for the only time in their career. All 3 had also worked together earlier in ''Gaali Gopura'', however, Udaykumar only had a special appearance in that movie.
