Kozhikode District
Kozhikode (), or Calicut district, is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, along its Southwestern Malabar Coast. The city of Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is the district headquarters. The district is 67.15% urbanised. Iringal
Iringal is a village in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. History The famous son of Iringal, Kunjali Marakkar, went on to become the trusted admiral and commanded the Zamorins fleet and thwarted the efforts of Portuguese vessels trying their best to make a landing on the Kerala coast. Vatakara

PT Usha
Pilavullakandi Thekkeraparambil Usha (born 27 June 1964) is a retired Indian track and field athlete. She was born in Kuthali, Kozhikode, Kerala. She has been associated with Indian athletics since 1979. She has won 4 Asian gold medals and 7 Silver medals. She is often called the "Queen of Indian track and field". On 6 July 2022, she was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by former President Ram Nath Kovind. In December 2022, Usha was elected president of the Indian Olympic Association unopposed. Orkkatteri
Orkkatteri is a small town in Kozhikode district in the North Malabar region of state of Kerala, India. This is the center town for Eramala grama panchayath. Economy There is a strong agrarian sector, and the crops are mainly coconuts and arecanuts. Paddy cultivation has a major setback now, as is the case with most of Kerala, with paddy fields being claimed for houses and for more profitable crops. Thikkodi
Thikkodi is a small village near Koyilandy in Kozhikode district of Kerala state, south India. Thikkodi is famous for a coconut nursery, which is 100 years old. The nearest city is Kozhikode, which is 35 km from this village. One can see remains of an old lighthouse in Velliyamkallu in Thikkodi. Thikkodi is also famous for its mussels (kallumakaaya). Memunda
Memunda is a small village near Vatakara town in Kozhikode district of Kerala, south India. History The Story of Thcholi Othenan is related to Memunda. Many exploits of Tacholi Othenan, the hero of the ballads of north malabar (Vadakkan Pattukal) were held in is the Lokanarkavu, in Memunda. Annual ceremonies are conducted in memory of "Othenan" whose birthplace is Manikoth, Meppayil near Memunda. The Lokanarkavu Bhagavathi Temple is in Memunda. Thottilpalam is the second major town (after kuttiady) in north east of Kozhikode district, Kerala.State Highway 54 to Wayanadu district passes through this town. It is 29 km from Vatakara and 5 km from kuttiady. Thottilpalam is the main town in Kavilumpara panchayath. Town is situated at the bottom of kuttiady churam.
