Paweł Fajdek
Paweł Fajdek (Polish pronunciation: ; born 4 June 1989) is a Polish hammer thrower, a five-time World Champion, European Champion, Olympic bronze medal winner, multiple Polish Champion and Polish men's hammer throw record holder. In 2013, he became the youngest world champion in the event. His personal best throw of 83.93 metres was achieved on 9 August 2015 at the Janusz Kusociński Memorial in Szczecin. Career Fajdek represented Poland at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, finishing just off the podium in 4th despite throwing a new Polish junior record of 75.31 metres with the 6 kg under-20 implement. In 2009, his first year as a senior, Fajdek placed 8th at the European U23 Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania with a throw of 68.70 metres. Åšwiebodzice
Åšwiebodzice (; szl, Frybork; german: Freiburg) is a town in south-western Poland with 22,793 inhabitants (). It is situated in Åšwidnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship (from 1975–1998 it was in the former WaÅ‚brzych Voivodeship). The town is situated close to Książ Castle, which during World War II, together with the cave complex, was expanded to create private quarters for Adolf Hitler. The town dates back to the medieval Kingdom of Poland. It was granted town rights by 1279. During World War II, the Germans established a subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp in the town. 2015 World Championships In Athletics – Men's Hammer Throw
The men's hammer throw at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 22 and 23 August. Returning champion and current world leader Paweł Fajdek looked to be the favorite. In the first round it was David Söderberg who took the lead. The second round saw Dilshod Nazarov and Sergej Litvinov get off 77 metre throws to take the top two spots. Then in the third round, Fajdek let out 80.64 and calmly walked out of the ring. Nobody else could get in that range, but Fajdek launched 80.88 on his next throw for the win. Nazarov got off a 78.55 in the fifth round to move into second, but that was matched exactly by Wojciech Nowicki on his final throw. With an exact tie for the silver medal, the second best throw became the tiebreaker, Nazarov's 78.06 in the fourth round being superior to Nowicki's third round 77.20. 2018 European Athletics Championships
The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom. For the second Championships in a row the Russian team did not participate; this was due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, several athletes were cleared by the IAAF to compete as Authorised Neutral Athletes under the flag of the European Athletic Association. The 2016 European Athletics Championships was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, between 6 and 10 July 2016. It was the first time the Netherlands hosted the event. Due to 2016 being an Olympic year, there was no racewalking and the marathon competition was replaced by half marathon. The Russian team did not participate due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, Yuliya Stepanova was individually cleared by the IAAF to compete as an independent athlete; she participated in the European championships under the flag of the European Athletic Association. The men's hammer throw at the 2022 World Athletics Championships was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene on 15 and 16 July 2022. Summary Back in 2011, Paweł Fajdek finished 11th and last in the final. Since then, the results have been the same, Paweł Fajdek World Champion. He was back for another spin. In the first round, Rudy Winkler was the first to throw over 78 with a 78.91m. Quentin Bigot threw 79.52m to take the lead and Bence Halász was in second with 79.12m. Seven throwers were over 77 metres while Fajdek only managed 74.71m to find himself in a non-qualifying 9th place. 2022 World Championships In Athletics
The 2022 World Athletics Championships was the eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships. It was held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from July 15–24, 2022, with the country hosting that competition for the first time.
