Pavlos Stamelos
Pavlos Stamelos (Greek language, Greek: Παύλος Σταμέλος; born August 2, 1950 in Greece) is a Greek retired professional basketball player and basketball coach, coach. At 6'4" (1.93 metre, m) in height, he played at the power forward (basketball), power forward and center (basketball), center positions. Professional club playing career Stamelos started his sports club, club playing career with the junior teams of Sporting BC, Sporting Athens in 1964. With Sporting, he was the Greek Basket League stats leaders, Greek League Top Scorer in the 1977–78 season. He moved to AEK Athens BC, AEK Athens for the 1979–80 season, where he played until 1981. Aigaleo or Egaleo ( el, Αιγάλεω ) is a suburban municipality in the western part of Athens, belonging to the West Athens regional administrative unit. It takes its name from Mount Aigaleo. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. The GBL plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 13 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the A2 Basket League and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier.
