Pavlos Haikalis
Pavlos Haikalis (also Chaikalis; el, Παύλος Χαϊκάλης) is a Greek actor and politician. Biography Pavlos Haikalis was born in Katakolo, Elis, on 30 October 1959. He, and his older brother Thanasis Haikalis (1948-2022), was raised by his mother Nikoleta because by the time Pavlos Haikalis was 10-year-old his father Giorgos Haikalis, who was a travel agent, passed away. After two years they started the health problems of his mother, he and his brother began working at variety of odd jobs for livelihood. He worked as waiter, labourer and warehouseman at factory, newsstand kioskman, detective and others. Pavlos Carrer
Pavlos Carrer (also Paolo Carrer; el, Παύλος Καρρέρ; 12 May 1829 – 7 June 1896) was a Greek composer, one of the leaders of the Ionian art music school and the first to create national operas and national songs on Greek plots, Greek librettos and verses, as well as melodies inspired by the folk and the urban popular musical tradition of modern Greece. Biography Carrer was a descendant of a noble family of Zante. He studied music in his birthplace with the Italian teachers Giuseppe Cricca, Francesco Marangoni and possibly in Corfu with Nikolaos Mantzaros. Pavlos, Crown Prince of Greece ( el, Παύλος; born 20 May 1967) is the eldest son and second child of Constantine II, the last King of Greece from 1964 to 1973 and his wife, Anne-Marie of Denmark. Pavlos Melas ( el, Παύλος Μελάς, ''Pávlos Melás''; March 29, 1870 – October 13, 1904) was a Greek revolutionary and artillery officer of the Hellenic Army. He participated in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897 and was amongst the first army officers to join the Greek Struggle for Macedonia. Early life and career Melas was born in Marseilles, France, the son of Michail Melas who was elected MP for Attica and mayor of Athens and brother of Vassileios Melas who was also an officer of the Hellenic Army. The Melas family was of Greek '' haute bourgeois'' descent. Pavlos' father was a wealthy merchant from Epirus. The Pavlos Vrellis Greek History Museum ( el, Μουσείο Ελληνικής Ιστορίας Παύλου Βρέλλη) also known as Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Wax Effigies is a privately owned wax museum in Ioannina regional unit, Greece. It was set up by the sculptor Pavlos Vrellis in February 1983, and is the best known wax museum in Greece. The museum hosts 150 wax models in 37 themes, inspired by various events from Greek history. Location and history The Museum's main building is located south of the city of Ioannina, Epirus, in Bizani municipality, on the Ioannina – Athens national road. Pavlos Kountouriotis ( el, Παύλος Κουντουριώτης; 9 April 1855 – 22 August 1935) was a Greek rear admiral during the Balkan Wars, regent, and the first President of the Second Hellenic Republic. In total he served four times as head of the Greek State, the most times in the history of the seat. Early life Pavlos Kountouriotis was born on the island of Hydra to Theodoros Kountouriotis, Consul and Member of the Greek Parliament and Loukia Negreponte. From his father's side he descended from the Kountouriotis, an Arvanite Hydriot family originally from the village of Kountoura, in the Megarid. Pavlos Kouroupis
Pavlos Kouroupis ( el, Παύλος Κουρούπης; 1929 – 22 July 1974) was an officer in the Hellenic Army. At the time of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, Kouroupis was a Colonel and CO of the 251st Battalion of the Cypriot National Guard, the unit closest to the Turkish landing site. With his unit, Kouroupis opposed the Turkish army at the Battle of Pentemili beachhead, stalling its advance for two days. Kouroupis was forced to retreat before numerically far superior Turkish forces and is considered the first missing person of the conflict. Kouroupis was presumed dead during the defence of Kyrenia. According to published reports in the Greek press, the Greek Intelligence Agency attempted a rescue of Kouroupis and other Greek Army officers who were held captive in Turkey. Pavlos Sidiropoulos ( el, Παύλος Σιδηρόπουλος; 27 July 1948 – 6 December 1990) was a Greek musician noted for combining rock music with Greek music. He is considered one of the pillars of Greek rock due to his involvement so early in its foundation. Pavlos Papaioannou (Greek: Παύλος Παπαϊωάννου; born 19 March 1959) is a Greek- Brazilian international former football player. Club career Papaioannou started his football career at Rodos with which he made great appearances, attracting the interest of the big clubs. On July 9, 1983, he was transferred to AEK Athens for 10 million drachmas plus the incomes from a friendly match between the two club in Rhodes. Pavlos Bakoyannis ( el, Παύλος Μπακογιάννης; February 10, 1935 in Velota, Evrytania – September 26, 1989 in Athens) was a liberal Greek politician who was well known for his broadcasts against the Greek military junta of 1967–1974 on Bayerischer Rundfunk radio. He was shot and killed in the front entrance of his office in 1989 by members of the terrorist group Revolutionary Organization 17 November. Biography Bakoyannis was a member of the New Democracy party, for which, at the time of his murder, he was parliamentary leader in the Hellenic Parliament. He was married to Dora Bakoyannis, daughter of Constantine Mitsotakis. After the murder of Pavlos, she passed a law prohibiting the publication of terrorist groups' post-attack manifestos in Greek newspapers.
