Pavagada
Pavagada or Pavgada is a taluk in the Tumkur district in Karnataka, India. Historically it was part of the Mysore kingdom. Though it is geographically connected to Chitradurga district inside state of Karnataka, it comes under Tumkur district. It is from state capital of Bangalore. Uttara Pinakini river flows into this Taluk. Pavagada Taluk falls on the border of Karnataka, hence majority of the population are bilingual speaks Kannada and Telugu. The town is famous for its fort located on the hill, Kote Anjaneya temple at the foothills and also the temple of Sri Shani Mahatma. Pavagada Solar Park is a photovoltaic power station, solar park covering an area of in Pavagada, Pavagada taluk, Tumakuru district, Tumkur district, Karnataka. Completed in 2019, the park has a capacity of 2,050 MW. Tumakuru District is an administrative district in the state of Karnataka in India. Sulagitti Narasamma
Sulagitti Narasamma (1920 – 25 December 2018) was an Indian midwife from Pavagada town, in Tumkur district of Karnataka state. She performed more than 20,000 traditional deliveries free of charge over a 70-year period of service in deprived regions of Karnataka with no medical facilities. Her work was honored with the National Citizen's award of India in 2012 and the country's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 2018. Biography Narasamma was born in Krishnapura, Pavagada village in Tumkur district to a nomadic culture. Her first language was Telugu. She did not attend school and grew up illiterate; she married her husband, Anjinappa, at the age of 12. Kotturu Chikkarangappa Raghunath (born 17 April 1965), known by his screen name Rangayana Raghu, is an Indian film and stage actor, known for his work in Kannada cinema. Penna (also known as Pinakini, Pennar, Penner, Penneru (Telugu), Pennai (Tamil)) is a river of southern India. This is a unique river in world where after originating from Nandi hills, it flows as two different streams, one in North and South directions.
