Paulo Santos (Portuguese Footballer)
Paulo Jorge da Silva dos Santos (born 11 December 1972) is a Portuguese retired professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He appeared in 275 Primeira Liga matches over 14 seasons, representing in the competition Benfica, Estrela da Amadora, Alverca, Porto, Varzim, Braga and Rio Ave. Santos was part of the Portugal squad at the 2006 World Cup. Club career Born in Odivelas, Lisbon metropolitan area, Santos began his football career at age 11 at Sporting CP, and made his debut in the Primeira Liga in the 1993–94 season, winning the league with capital neighbours S.L. Benfica by playing one minute in the last game. After successful stints with C.F. Estrela da Amadora and F.C. Alverca, he went on to represent FC Porto, with no significant impact. Santos joined S.C. Paulo Jorge dos Santos Futre (; born 28 February 1966) is a Portuguese former footballer who played mostly as a left winger. He is one of the greatest natural talents of the Portugal. After starting playing for Sporting, he moved to Porto – winning the 1987 European Cup – after which he embarked in an extensive professional career, having represented clubs in Spain, France, Italy, England and Japan, most notably Atlético Madrid. He also appeared for Benfica during four months in 1993, and his later years were blighted by injury problems. A Portuguese international since the age of 17, Futre earned over 40 caps for his country, representing it at the 1986 World Cup. Paulo Dos Santos (born 13 November 1973 in São Vicente, Cape Verde) is a Cape Verdean soccer midfielder who played two seasons with the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer, four seasons in the USISL and six seasons in Norway. Youth Dos Santos, a native of the Cape Verde Islands, moved to Brockton, Massachusetts when he was fourteen. He attended the University of Rhode Island, playing on the men's soccer team from 1993 to 1995. He finished his three seasons with the Rams with twenty-two goals and seventeen assists in thirty-nine games. He graduated in 1997. Paulo Roberto dos Santos (born 23 October 1958), known as Paulo Roberto Santos or Paulo Roberto, is a Brazilian football manager and former player who played as a left back. He is the current manager of São Bento. Career Paulo Roberto was born in Rio de Janeiro, and played as a left back. A Botafogo youth graduate, he spent the vast majority of his career with lower league clubs. Paulo Roberto began his managerial career in 1988, with Pouso Alegre FC. He only came into prominence in the early 2000s, after being in charge of Rio Claro while the club achieved successive promotions in the lower levels of the Campeonato Paulista.
