Paulo Henrique Amorim
Paulo Henrique dos Santos Amorim (22 February 1942 – 10 July 2019) was a Brazilian blogger and journalist. Biography Amorim worked as a sociologist and political scientist for many of the larger networks of the Brazilian mass media, such as Manchete Network, Grupo Abril, Jornal do Brasil, Globo Network, Bandeirantes Network and TV Cultura. From 2003 on, he worked for Record Network. Online-wise, he worked for Zaz, Terra, UOL and Internet Group (iG). He also owned an independent web portal nameConversa Afiada "located somewhere in the Web 2.0". He died on 10 July 2019 at the age of 77. Convictions in court On May 31, 2011, the 18th Civil Chamber of the Court of Rio de Janeiro upheld the sentence of first instance that Amorim condemned to pay R$30,000 in damages to Ali Kamel. Daniel Valente Dantas is a Brazilian entrepreneur. He is known as the founder of the Opportunity Asset Management . Career In the late 1990s, Dantas was a fund manager for Citigroup and a key figure in the privatization of the telecoms sector. His company controlled Brasil Telecom Participacoes, then one of the country's largest telecoms groups, together with Citigroup (C.N) and Telecom Italia (TLIT.MI). Luiz Carlos Azenha (Bauru, 1958) is a Brazilian blogger and journalist. Biography Azenha was born in Bauru, São Paulo. He graduated in Journalism at the Escola de Comunicações e Artes — ECA of the Universidade de São Paulo. As journalist, begins his career in a local newspaper, the "Jornal da Cidade". ''Partido da Imprensa Golpista'' (''PiG'', en, Pro-coup Press Party) is a term used by left-wing Brazilian websurfers since 2007 to characterize an alleged attitude of the Brazilian mass media towards President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the 2006 presidential election. The term was popularized by journalist Paulo Henrique Amorim in his blog. Whenever he uses the term, Amorim writes it with an "i" in lowercase as a pun with the name of the web portal where he was a journalist before he was dismissed on March 18, 2008, which he describes as a process of "ideological cleansing". The term is also used by journalists Luiz Carlos Azenha and Rodrigo Vianna on their blogs, which also helped to spread its popularity. Web 2.0 (also known as participative (or participatory) web and social web) refers to websites that emphasize user-generated content, ease of use, participatory culture and interoperability (i.e., compatibility with other products, systems, and devices) for end users. The term was coined by Darcy DiNucci in 1999 and later popularized by Tim O'Reilly and Dale Dougherty at the first Web 2.0 Conference in 2004.
