Paulius Jankūnas
Paulius Jankūnas (born 29 April 1984) is a retired Lithuanian professional basketball player who mainly played for Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. He was also a member of the senior Lithuanian national team. Jankūnas played at either center or power forward, with power forward being his main position. He earned an All-EuroLeague Second Team selection in 2018. Early years Jankūnas played two seasons with the LKKA-Žalgiris, leading the team to a LKAL (Lithuanian League 2nd Division) title in 2003. He was named the Lithuanian 2nd Division MVP, after averaging 20.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. He competed at the Reebok Eurocamp in Treviso, in 2003. Paulius Valinskas (born 9 December 1995) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for FMP of the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA League. He is a 1.91 m (6'3") tall combo guard. Early career During the 2015–16 season with BC Žalgiris-2, Valinskas won the National Basketball League silver medals losing to BC Sūduva in the final. He averaged 14.5 points and 3.2 assists in 29 minutes of action and got the 2015–16 Most Improved Player Award. Paulius Širvys (6 September 1920 – 27 March 1979) was a Lithuanian poet. Biography Paulius Širvys was born in Padustėlis village (now in Zarasai District Municipality), but soon moved to Degučiai village. After his parents and brother died, Širvys lived with his relatives but later was submitted to children's home. He worked as a cowherd, graduated Salos Agriculture School in 1940. He attended infantry courses in Vilnius in 1940–41. After the Second World War began, Širvys moved to Belarus where he came under arrest as a Nazi prisoner. He managed to escape to Lithuania but again was captured and transferred to East Prussia. He joined the Red Army (the 16th Rifle Division) in 1944 and later was seriously injured. After the war, Paulius Širvys worked as an editor in several regional newspapers, in 1954–55 worked in ''Literatūra ir menas''. Paulius Antanas Baltakis
Paulius Antanas Baltakis, O.F.M. (1 January 1925 – 17 May 2019) was a Lithuanian Roman Catholic prelate who served as the last Apostolic Visitor for the Lithuanians in Diaspora from 1 June 1984 until his resignation in 2003. Biography Baltakis was born into a family of Lithuanian farmers as the second of eleven children and named as Antanas. He studied in gymnasiums in Kretinga and Anykščiai until he was arrested by Nazi agents in 1944 and sent to forced labour. After the liberation from the forced labour camp at the end of World War II, he began to study at the Catholic University of Leuven in 1945 and a year later joined the mendicant Franciscan Order, where he was tonsured with the name "Paulius" and made his solemn profession of vows on 15 September 1950. Baltakis was ordained as a priest on 24 August 1952, after completing his theological studies. Paulius Pultinevičius (born 2001) is a Lithuanian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2019. He is ranked the 4th best player in Lithuania. Career Pultinevičius was the Lithuanian U-14 Junior Champion, and, aged fifteen, went on to represent Lithuania in 2016 in the 42nd Chess Olympiad on reserve board, going unbeaten over nine games. Paulius Dambrauskas (born 16 December 1991) is a Lithuanian basketball player who last played for Astoria Bydgoszcz of the Polish Basketball League. Paulius Viktoravičius (born 4 November 1984) is a Lithuanian swimmer, who specialized in sprint and relay freestyle events. He is a multiple-time Lithuanian swimming champion and record holder in both the freestyle and medley relay events. Paulius Galaunė
Paulius Galaunė (January 25, 1890 in Pagelažiai near Ukmergė – October 18, 1988 in Kaunas) was a Lithuanian art historian, museum curator, and graphic artist. He was one of the first professional museum curators in Lithuania and was well-published on topics of Lithuanian folk art. The apartment of Galaunė and his wife Adelė Nezabitauskaitė, an opera singer, was converted into the Galaunė Family Museum in 1995, and contains his personal belongings as well as his works. It is part of the M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum. He was buried in Petrašiūnai Cemetery.
