Brian Gibson (director)
Brian Gibson (22 September 1944 – 4 January 2004) was an English film and television director. Early life and education Gibson was born 22 September 1944 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. His mother, Victoria, was a shop assistant and his father was a carpenter. He had a sister, June. Gibson attended Southend High School for Boys. He attended St Catharine's College, Cambridge, where he studied medicine. He also studied History of Science at Darwin College, Cambridge. He graduated from Cambridge University. Career In the late 1960s, Gibson began working for the BBC, directing scientific documentaries. Gibson directed Helen Mirren in the 1979 BBC film ''Blue Remembered Hills'' and his work on that film won him a BAFTA Award for Best Director. Kehrer Verlag is an art book publisher based in Heidelberg, Germany, specializing in photography, fine art, and sound art. Its books are produced in cooperation with Kehrer Design, the affiliated office for design and image processing. History The publishing house was founded by Klaus Kehrer in Heidelberg in 1995. William Owen Gregory (born 17 September 1959) is an English musician and record producer. He is best known as the lead keyboardist, producer, and composer of the electronic music duo Goldfrapp. Early life Gregory was born in Bristol, the son of an actress and an opera chorus-line singer. "I got into music kind of by default as it was the only thing I was good at – I was the weird one at school who practiced the piano during lunch break. In my teens I met other musicians and was so relieved to find some like-minds that I think I never wanted to leave the 'weird' muso club – perhaps it’s the same for many musicians. Martyn Barker
Martyn Barker (born 14 September 1959, Merseyside, England) is an English drummer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, best known as the drummer for Shriekback. He has also been a member of King Swamp, and worked with Robert Plant, Marianne Faithfull, Sarah Jane Morris, Billy Bragg, Beth Gibbons, Rustin Man, Alain Bashung and Juldeh Camara and Justin Adams. Ivo Neame
Ivo Michael Beale Neame (born 13 March 1981) is a British jazz pianist and composer. In addition to leading his own bands he is a member of several European jazz groups including Phronesis, the Marius Neset Quintet, and the Kairos 4Tet. He is a Professor of Jazz Piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Biography Neame, a grandson of composer Shena Fraser, was born in Kent into the Shepherd Neame brewing family. He attended The King's School, Canterbury, and studied jazz saxophone at London's Royal Academy of Music in a year-group that included pianist Gwilym Simcock, and was mentored by Martin Speake and Steve Buckley, as well as F-IRE Collective founder Barak Schmool and Milton Mermikides. Kit Downes is a BBC Jazz Award winning, Mercury Music Award nominated, solo recording artist for ECM Records.
