Paula Boggs Band
Paula Boggs Band is an American band formed in Seattle, Washington in 2007. The band was formed by former U.S. Army officer and attorney Paula Boggs (vocals, guitar, ukulele). The band plays a blend of jazz, bluegrass, soul, folk, and Americana and describes their sound as "Seattle-brewed Soulgrass." History Boggs formed the band after meeting percussionist Tor Dietrichson on MySpace and guitar/banjo player Mark Chinen at a concert while vacationing in Hawaii. Other band members include Mark Chinen (guitar, banjo), Paul Matthew Moore (keys, accordion, vocals), Darren Loucas (mandolin, guitar, harmonica, fiddle, lap steel, vocals), Jacob Evans (drums), and Alex Dyring (bass, vocals). The band released their debut album, ''A Buddha State of Mind'' in 2010. The band released their second studio album, titled Carnival of Miracles, in 2015. Paula Boggs (born 1959) is the founder of Boggs Media, LLC, a business that manages her music, speaking, and other creative business activities. She is a musician, public speaker, writer and lawyer. She is also a board member of numerous for-profit and non-profit organizations. She served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of law and corporate affairs at Starbucks Corporation from 2002 to 2012. Early life Boggs is the oldest of four, and was born to parents Janice Barber and Nathaniel Boggs Jr. in Washington, D.C. She was raised Catholic. Trina Shoemaker
Kathryn "Trina" Shoemaker is an American mixer, record producer and sound engineer responsible for producing/engineering and/or mixing records for bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Something for Kate, Nanci Griffith, Kristin Hersh, and many more. Early life and career Shoemaker was born in Joliet, Illinois, and attended Joliet Central High School. After graduating in 1983, she moved to Los Angeles and got a job working as a secretary at Capitol Records. She then briefly moved to London where she worked with artist Hugh Harris. On her return to the United States, she began working for producer Daniel Lanois at Kingsway Studios in New Orleans. In 1992 she became the studio's house engineer. Michael Shrieve
Michael Shrieve (born July 6, 1949) is an American drummer, percussionist, and composer. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band Santana, playing on the band's first seven albums from 1969 to 1974. At age 20, Shrieve was the second youngest musician to perform at Woodstock. His drum solo during " Soul Sacrifice" in the ''Woodstock'' film has been described as "electrifying", although he considers his drum solo during "Soul Sacrifice" in 1970 at Tanglewood as being better. Geoffrey Castle is a musician and violinist based in Kirkland, WA. Castle performs on the electric six-string violin music from a range of genres, including Hendrix, Celtic, Bluegrass, and Mozart. Early life and education Castle, born Jeffrey Sick, began playing violin at age nine in New York City. He studied privately and performed in school orchestras, all-city and all-state orchestras, and in his high school marching band in Alexandria, Virginia. He began solo performances on the electric violin at the age of 17. Andrew Joslyn is an American composer, orchestrator, film scorer, and violinist in various genres. Early life and education Joslyn was born in Pomona, California, but moved to Washington with his family when he was three and grew up on Bainbridge Island. His father is a family therapist and his mother is a Hungarian model, actress and artist. She came to the United States after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Joslyn was raised as a Zen Buddhist from an early age, and both his parents run the Entsuan Zen center on Bainbridge.
