Paul Tokasz
Paul Tokasz (born 1946) is an American politician from New York. He represented District 143 which comprises the towns of Lancaster, and Cheektowaga, and villages of Depew, Lancaster and Sloan, from 1988 to 2006. Biography He was born in 1946, of Polish ancestry. He graduated B.A. in history from Hobart College in 1968, and M.A. in education from Buffalo State College. He taught school at public schools in Buffalo, New York, from 1968 to 1977. He entered politics as a Democrat, and was Clerk of the Erie County Legislature in 1977; Deputy County Clerk (in charge of the Auto Bureau) of Erie County from 1977 to 1986; and First Deputy County Clerk from 1987 to 1988. On March 15, 1988, Tokasz was elected to the New York State Assembly, to fill the vacancy caused by the election of Dennis T. Gorski as Erie County Executive. Ronald J. "Ron" Canestrari (born May 22, 1943) is an American politician and former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. Biography Canestrari was born on May 22, 1943, in Cohoes. He attended the Christian Brothers Academy in Albany. He graduated B.Sc. from Fordham College in 1965, and J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1968. Dennis H. Gabryszak (born November 18, 1951) is an American former politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, Gabryszak was a member of the New York State Assembly for the 143rd district from 2007 until his January 2014 resignation. Life and career Gabryszak is of Polish heritage. Gabryszak served as trustee on the Board of Trustees for Depew, New York in 1981. In 1984, he was elected to the Cheektowaga Town Board; he served as supervisor of Cheektowaga from 1993 to 2006. Cheektowaga () is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town has grown to a population of 89,877. The town is in the north-central part of the county, and is an inner ring suburb of Buffalo. The town is the second-largest suburb of Buffalo, after the Town of Amherst. The town of Cheektowaga contains the village of Sloan and half of the village of Depew. The remainder, outside the villages, is a census-designated place also named Cheektowaga. The town is home to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, Erie County's principal airport. Villa Maria College, Empire State College, and the Walden Galleria are in Cheektowaga.
