Paul Allen Simmons
Paul Allen Simmons (August 31, 1921 – October 9, 2014) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Education and career Born in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, on August 31, 1921, Simmons received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1946 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1949. He was a professor at the South Carolina State University School of Law in Orangeburg, South Carolina, from 1949 to 1952. He was a professor at the North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, from 1952 to 1956. Subsequently a lawyer in private practice in Monongahela from 1956 to 1973, he was then appointed as a judge of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania, a position he held from 1973 to 1978. Paul Simmons (drummer)
Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock". Though it disbanded formally in 2006, incarnations have played reunion shows in the years since and released two albums in November 2010, and in November 2017. In 2013, it reformed with a new drummer, Cristian Borneo, and recorded a new song titled "Holy is Your Name", before going back on tour. With a style initially similar to The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Petra's sound evolved into a more energetic, driving rock sound in the early 1980s akin to Foreigner, Styx and Journey. Paul Simmons is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas; a position he has held since 2017. He has won Great American Conference championships in 2021, 2023, reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs in 2017, and won the NCAA Division II national championship in 2023. As a player for Harding, Simmons was a three-time first-team All-American linebacker and defensive end. He was inducted into the Harding Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999.
