Paul Renner (politician)
Paul Marvin Renner (born March 21, 1967) is an American politician who currently serves as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 24th District, which includes Flagler County, St. Johns County, Putnam County and northern Volusia County, since 2015. History Renner was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Florida. He attended Davidson College, where he graduated with his bachelor's degree in history in 1989. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving as a Surface Warfare Officer, and provided combat operations support in the Gulf War. Following his active duty military service, he attended the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1994. Renner then served as an assistant state attorney, where he supervised misdemeanor attorneys and prosecuted felony offenses in the Felony Trial Unit. The Florida Senate is the upper house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida House of Representatives being the lower house. Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution of Florida, adopted in 1968, defines the role of the Legislature and how it is to be constituted. The Senate is composed of 40 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of approximately 540,000 residents.
