Paul Oliver (American Football)
Paul J. Oliver (March 30, 1984 – September 24, 2013) was an American football safety of the National Football League (NFL) who was selected in the fourth round of the 2007 Supplemental NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He was also briefly a member of the New Orleans Saints. Early years Oliver was heavily recruited as a '' Parade'' High School All-American for the Harrison High School Hoyas. He was also ranked as the #1 cornerback by Rivals.com in 2003, and at 185 pounds timed unofficially with a 4.32 second 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical jump. College career Oliver decided to stay close to home and committed to playing college football at the University of Georgia. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. Calvin Johnson Jr., (born September 29, 1985) is an American former football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons with the Detroit Lions.
