Paul Mark
Paul W. Mark is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Massachusetts Senate. He represents the Berkshire, Hampden, Franklin and Hampshire District, which includes 57 cities and towns throughout Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. Paul Mark previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Before running for office, Mark was employed for over ten years as a splice-service technician at Verizon Communications. He earned several college degrees at night and on the weekends while working full-time and commuting across Massachusetts. Massachusetts Senate's Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin, And Hampden District
Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin, and Hampden is a district of the Massachusetts Senate since 2013. It covers an area of 1,529.5 square miles across the expanse of Berkshire, Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin counties. Democrat Adam Hinds of Pittsfield has represented the district since 2017. Hinds is running unopposed for re-election in the 2020 Massachusetts general election. The current district geographic boundary overlaps with those of the Massachusetts House of Representatives' 1st Berkshire, 2nd Berkshire, 3rd Berkshire, 4th Berkshire, 1st Franklin, and 1st Hampshire districts. Hampshire County is a historical and judicial county located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. Following the dissolution of the county government in 1999, county affairs were managed by the Hampshire Council of Governments, which itself ceased operations in 2019, due to a "fundamentally flawed, unsustainable operational model". As of the 2020 census, the population was 162,308. Its most populous municipality is Amherst, its largest town in terms of landmass is Belchertown, and its traditional county seat is Northampton.
