Paul Marie Bonaparte
Prince Paul Marie Bonaparte (19 February 1809 in Canino – 7 September 1827 in Nafplio) fought in the Greek War of Independence. Paul Marie Bonaparte was the third child of Lucien Bonaparte and Alexandrine de Bleschamp. He studied at the University of Bologna. In March 1827 he secretly left the city, and under an assumed name, went to Greece to take part in the Greek War of Independence. Arriving first at the Ionian Islands, Bonaparte was welcomed on 24 August at Poros by the British Admiral Thomas Cochrane, 10th Earl of Dundonald, Cochrane, who was entrusted with command of the Greek fleet. Bonaparte served on the flagship frigate ''Greek frigate Hellas, Hellas'', which after a series of unsuccessful operations stood off in the strait of the island Spetses. Canino
Canino is a town and ''comune'' of Italy, in the province of Viterbo (northern Lazio) in the internal part of Maremma Laziale. It is west of Valentano and northwest of Viterbo. It is also near the ancient Etruscan town of Vulci, and the destroyed city of Castro. Lucien Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon, was lord of Canino and is buried in the town's collegiate church. Canino was also a residence of the Farnese family; future pope Paul III was born here in 1468. Prince Of Canino And Musignano
The Princes of Canino and Musignano formed the genealogically senior line of the House of Bonaparte, Bonaparte family following the death of Joseph Bonaparte in 1844. The line was succeeded by one of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor Napoleon's younger brothers, Lucien Bonaparte. It became extinct in the male line in 1924. Carlo Maria Buonaparte or Charles-Marie Bonaparte (27 March 1746 – 24 February 1785) was a Corsican lawyer and diplomat, best known as the father of Napoleon Bonaparte and grandfather of Napoleon III. The Battle of Navarino was a naval battle fought on 20 October (O. S. 8 October) 1827, during the Greek War of Independence (1821–29), in Navarino Bay (modern Pylos), on the west coast of the Peloponnese peninsula, in the Ionian Sea. Allied forces from Britain, France, and Russia decisively defeated Ottoman and Egyptian forces which were trying to suppress the Greeks, thereby making Greek independence much more likely.
