Paul Lynch (director)
Paul Lynch (born June 11, 1946) is a Canadian film director and television director. Lynch came to Canada in 1960. He left school to become a cartoonist for the ''Toronto Star'' and then served as a photographer for a number of small-town newspapers. This led to work in film, including a 90-minute documentary on ''Penthouse'' magazine commissioned by its publisher, Bob Guccione. His first feature film was ''The Hard Part Begins''. This was followed by the box-office hit '' Prom Night'', a straightforward slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Leslie Nielsen. Lynch has only made movies periodically, pursuing instead a career directing for American television. Reruns later aired during the fall of 1988, to fill scheduling gaps caused by the 1988 Writers Guild of America strike. ''The Twilight Zone'' is an anthology television series which was constructed from September 27, 1985 to April 15, 1989. It is the first of three revivals of Rod Serling's acclaimed 1959–64 television series, and like the original it featured a variety of speculative fiction, commonly containing characters from a seemingly normal world stumbling into paranormal circumstances. Unlike the original, however, most episodes contained multiple self-contained stories instead of just one. The voice-over narrations were still present, but were not a regular feature as they were in the original series; some episodes had only an opening narration, some had only a closing narration, and some had no narration at all. Plot In the year 2068, Earth can no longer sustain human life with its natural resources depleted beyond repair.
