Paul Krekorian
Paul Krekorian (born March 24, 1960) is an American politician, currently serving as the 26th president of the Los Angeles City Council since October 18, 2022. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party, he has represented the Los Angeles City Council District 2, second district on the Los Angeles City Council since 2010. He was previously a member of the California State Assembly, representing the California's 43rd State Assembly district, 43rd Assembly district. Krekorian is the first Armenian American to be elected to office in the city of Los Angeles. Personal life Krekorian was born in California's San Fernando Valley, as a third-generation San Fernando Valley resident. He is the son of JoAnn, a North Hollywood native, and Erwin Krekorian, a Marine Corps WWII veteran. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the governing body of the United States Democratic Party. The committee coordinates strategy to support Democratic Party candidates throughout the country for local, state, and national office, as well as works to establish a "party brand".
